Born in Istanbul in 1985, photographer Emine Gozde Sevim's raw documentation of life has led her most recent body of work to garner the attention of one of the world's biggest photographic institutions.

Her first book Embed in Egypt was shortlisted for the MACK’s First Book Award in 2014 and following her 'Homeland Delirium' series of photos, she was awarded the 2015 Magnum Foundation Emergency Fund alongside ten other photographers. Driven by the urge to create an 'alternative Middle-Eastern visual narrative' in the era following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Sevim has worked in Israel, the West Bank, Egypt and Turkey.
