Debut novelist Hannah Kohler released her first novel The Outside Lands in May 2016 with Picador, to a host of rave reviews including The Sunday Times, which described its 'remarkable emotional intelligence', and the Daily Mail, which called it 'jagged, fresh and startlingly alive'.

The Outside Lands is set in San Francisco in 1968, and follows orphaned siblings Jeannie and Kit as their lives are disrupted and forever changed by the Vietnam War. London based Kohler, who sold her book in 2014 immediately after completing a novel writing MA at City University, has created an intelligent, compelling story, and is definitely one to watch out for.
