British scientist and conservationist Dame Dame Jane Goodall has been announced as the new patron for the Bournemouth Natural Science Society (BNSS), which aims to promote the study and enjoyment of the natural sciences and history.

Dr Rodney Cooper, President of the BNSS, commented 'We are thrilled that such a well respected personality in the scientific world can see the value in our society and is happy to support us in continuing our work'.
