Bringing Ghanaian cuisine to the UK, self-taught chef Zoe Adjonyoh is spicing up the London food scene.

The owner of chop bar pop-up Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen in Pop Brixton, modelled on west-African roadside cafés, serves dishes such as goat curry, yam balls and okra soup which have already caught the attention of English food writer Nigel Slater, for whom she appeared in his 2015 series Eating Together. Driven by the desire to introduce Ghanaian food to a mainstream audience, the 35 year old is now working on new projects including a debut cookbook recently acquired by publisher Mitchell Beazley. And with a second permanent venue opening soon, a range of Ghanaian cooking sauces to market, and a cookbook due out next April, 2016 look to be a busy and prosperous year for the chef.
