Soon to perform her debut solo show Portrait at this year's Women of the World Festival, London-based writer and actor Racheal Ofori is en route to follow in the footsteps of festival headliners Sandi Toksvig, Sara Pascoe, Sue Perkins and Caitlin Moran.

Inspired by Ofori's own experiences, Portrait looks at young black women trying to find their way in modern London, and fuses music and dance, poetry and irreverent humour to explore identity models and cultural stereotypes. The young performer's multi-character examination, encapsulated in one of her central character’s first lines 'What do you see when you see me?', has already caught the eye of critics, who described the show as 'fearless and uplifting' and 'near perfection'. Having entertained a sell-out audience at Edinburgh Fringe in 2015, Ofori and her vivid characters are set to fill up many more auditoriums in the future.
