Being chosen to portray a music great such as Janis Joplin is no mean feat, but that's exactly the role Scottish actress Angie Darcy faces as she prepares to star in the Theatre Royal Stratford East transfer of the musical Full Tilt.

Also working as a voiceover artist and session singer, Darcy has already proven herself in the role of one of rock's greatest female icons, picking up the Best Female Performance gong from the Musical Theatre Network Awards in 2014, with the production by Peter Arnott, directed by Cora Bissett, selling out during its Endinburgh Fringe Festival run. Darcy performs in the show with a full live band, blending together theatre and the atmosphere of a live gig with a skill that's already won praise from critics. Now Londoners will get a chance to see her in action, and we can't wait to book our tickets.
