Novelist Dan Vyleta has achieved critical success with novels Pavel & I and The Quiet Twin, but he's set to hit the big time with his new book, literary blockbuster Smoke, released July 7 2016 with Orion imprint Weidenfeld & Nicolson.

Set in an alternate universe in which sin is visible as smoke and soot on people's bodies, this novel follows Thomas and Charlie from their Oxford boarding school to London, where they witness an event that makes them question the world they live in. Settling on that borderline between literary and commercial fiction, this novel combines quality writing with a high concept page-turning plot that's already achieving international buzz. Vyleta, now based in Stratford Upon Avon, was born in Germany before achieving a PhD in history from King's College, Cambridge. His breakout novel, which will appeal to fans of Dickens, Philip Pullman and Philip K Dick, is definitely one to watch out for in 2016.
