Reno born Gabriel Urza's debut novel All That Followed was released in the UK in September this year by Henry Holt & Company after great reviews from publications including the New York Times, which called it a 'triumph'.

The novel is set in Spain's Basque Country, and explores the repercussions of violence and history in a small community after the death of a local politician, in the aftermath of the 2004 Madrid train bombings. Following the politician's widow, the young man jailed for his death, and an American born outsider, the novel explores very current themes of memory, history and radicalism. Urza, whose writing was described by NPR as 'both tough and lyrical, unsparing and beautiful', lived in the Basque Country for some time while writing the novel; he's also worked in Nevada as a public defender and has an MFA from Ohio State University. Now teaching creative writing at Ithaca University as he continues his literary career, Urza is an exciting and intelligent up-and-coming voice in the book world.
