Debut novelist Sarah Duguid has been picked out by The Bookseller as Headline Publishing's one to watch in 2016 with her book Look At Me, released February 25.
An exploration of grief and family, the story follows protagonist Lizzy as she attempts to move on two years after her mother's suicide by inviting her father's secret child into the family with disastrous consequences. Duguid, who grew up on a farm in North Lincolnshire and has worked as a journalist and reporter, is now based in London and is studying for an MA in 20th and 21st century literature alongside her writing. With comparisons to Notes On A Scandal author Zoe Heller and Emma Healey, who wrote one of 2014's most exciting debuts Elizabeth is Missing, Duguid is sure to make waves in the publishing world with this explosive and poignant novel.
