Hollyoaks stars including Jeremy Sheffield, Jimmy McKenna and Jessica Fox have taken part in a special Ice Bucket Challenge, a year after the internet phenomenon raising awareness of motor neurone disease (MND) 'first swept the globe'.

Sheffield, best known for playing the character of Patrick Blake, who was recently diagnosed with MND in the Channel 4 soap, commented 'We all feel the responsibility to make our MND storyline as accurate as possible... It's easily the biggest challenge of my acting career and I feel the pressure of representing the people currently living with such a devastating illness'.
