Actress Sheridan Smith has been announced as breast cancer awareness charity CoppaFeel!'s latest celebrity patron, joining Fearne Cotton and Dermot O'Leary in the role.

Smith recently starred in BBC drama The C Word, based on the life of blogger and author Lisa Lynch, who died of breast cancer in 2013. She commented 'I'm really excited about being a patron for CoppaFeel! I love my boobs and check them regularly and now I get to ensure everyone else does too. Playing the amazing Lisa Lynch in The C Word opened my eyes to the realities of having breast cancer. Everyone should stand the best chance of surviving this crappy disease, so I am a fully fledged boob team member and here to remind you to get to know your boobs. So, off you go!'.
