Girls star Allison Williams has been announced as the first celebrity ambassador for Horizons National, a US based network of community-centred education programmes that take place on college, university and independent school campuses during the summer to 'put children on a path to success' in school and life.

The initiative aims to close the opportunity gap for low-income children by providing a high-quality learning experience outside of the traditional school year. Williams commented 'Too many children, through no fault of their own, lack the resources to get the start they need in life and fulfil their potential. Horizons provides opportunities to children they wouldn't otherwise have, setting them up for success in school and life'.
