EastEnders actress Anita Dobson has been announced as patron of the Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity, which provides care and support for people and families affected by life-limiting illnesses.

Dobson, who'll be seen on screens in documentary Armada next month, commented 'Having been to the hospice a number of times over the past two years, and also having friends in the local area, I know how vitally important having this type of care and support on your doorstep is, especially for patients and their families in their time of need'.
