Virginia born writer Sara Taylor is set to release her debut literary novel The Shore on March 26.

Set in a group of islands just off the Virginia coast, the novel is a family history spanning 250 years, with themes ranging from murder, fate, love and drug dealing, and is already tipped for Man Booker success with praise from authors including Eimear McBride and Catherine O'Flynn, who called it 'epic in breadth but glittering in its detail'. Taylor, who's been compared to David Mitchell and Jennifer Egan, worked on the novel during her MA in Prose Fiction at the University of East Anglia, where she's now studying for a PhD.
