Toronto quintet Alvvays (pronounced Always) may not be completely new to the music scene, but after supporting Brooklyn band Real Estate in 2014, they're now set to become the main act.

Starting as a solo project for Molly Rankin, daughter of famous Celtic musician John Morris Rankin, who died when Molly was just 12 years old, the band soon evolved with Rankin recruiting best friend Kerri MacLellan, and later Alec O'Hanley, Brian Murphy and Phil MacIsaac. After working on their self-titled debut album with Holy F**k's Graham Walsh, the band were nominated for awards including the Juno Award for Alternative Album of the Year and Breakthrough Group of the Year. With the release of their debut album already under their belt, the band are set to spend 2015 performing across the globe, including a two date UK gig and an appearance at the End of the Road Festival in the summer.
