Clara Amfo has been announced as the new host of the BBC Radio 1 chart show, taking over from Jameela Jamil, who'll remain at the station in a more flexible role.

Amfo, who's best known for her work on digital station 1Xtra, where she will continue to present a weekend breakfast show, is to present her first chart show on January 25. Controller of Radio 1 and 1Xtra Ben Cooper said 'Clara is a fantastic presenter with huge potential and I know that fans of the Official Chart will love her energy and passion for music. I'm proud that 1Xtra continues to develop young talent for the BBC and the wider industry'.
