Rower Sir Sir Steve Redgrave, who won gold medals at five consecutive Olympic Games, has been announced as the new Chairman of Henley Royal Regatta, taking over from Mike Sweeney, who's been in the role since 1993.

Redgrave, who's the third most decorated British Olympian with six medals and has been 'hailed as Britain's greatest-ever Olympian', was elected as a Steward in 1996, became a Member of the Committee in December 1999, and has acted as Vice-Chairman for the last 12 months.
