Orange Is the New Black actress Selenis Leyva has been announced as the newest ambassador for Gabrielle's Angel Foundation in the US, following in the footsteps of current ambassadors including Alan Cumming, Estelle and Brittany Daniel.

The charity helps to fund research into leukaemia, lymphoma, and related cancers of the blood. Leyva's brother was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma when she was eight, and later developed thyroid cancer. She said 'My goal as an Angel Ambassador is to continue supporting all efforts going towards cancer research and give support to all who are currently fighting this awful disease. I am honoured and deeply moved to join this extraordinary foundation'.
