Whitley Bay four-piece Lisbon have already been making a name for themselves in their hometown but are now set to take the rest of the UK by storm after being backed by Radio 1, with material from their debut EP Life is Good being selected for the station's set list.

The alternative band, who released their debut single Bluelove in March 2014 to critical acclaim, have started to play gigs and festivals outside of the North East following high demand. Making waves in the music industry and impressing the likes of Huw Stephens, the band - made up of Matthew Varty (singer), Joe Atkinson (backing vocals and lead guitar), Gaz Turkington (bass guitar) and Alex Wright (drums and spacebar) – finished touring with London band Eliza and the Bear in October 2014 and are currently working on their forthcoming debut album.
