Already known to American audiences for her role in the ABC comedy Neighbors, Clara Mamet is now making a move into films and has just written, directed and starred in the dark teen comedy Two-Bit Waltz.

The big screen project sees the young actress, whose half-sister is Girls actress Zosia Mamet, play a girl who inherits her grandmother's fortune on the condition that she goes to college. The film is described as a semi-autobiographical tale (Mamet became legally emancipated at 15 so she could leave high school to pursue her career acting and subsequently skipped college) and stars her mother, actress Rebecca Pidgeon, as well as renowned actor William H Macy.
