Singer and former X Factor US judge Demi Lovato has announced her support for the Human Rights Campaign's Americans for Marriage Equality initiative, recording a video in support of marriage equality and encouraging people to sign the charity's pledge.

Lovato, a long-term supporter of LGBT rights, commented 'My generation knows that it's wrong to tell two people in love they can't get married, simply because of who they love. We've got to stand up for what's right and let our voices be heard if we want to put an end to marriage discrimination'.
