Journalist and TV presenter Mariella Frostrup has been named as Gender Ambassador for Save the Children ahead of a global summit to end sexual violence in conflict in London, chaired by Foreign Secretary William Hague and Angelina Jolie, the Special Envoy of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

Frostrup commented 'The huge contribution made by the world's female population toward the health, safety and education of children is clear and yet issues of gender violence and social inequality continue to hamper their efforts'.
