Writer and comedian The Estate Of Caroline Aherne has announced her support for the Macmillan Cancer Improvement Partnership in Manchester, which aims to bring all cancer care providers in the city together to ensure no patients 'fall through the cracks'.

Aherne, who's currently recovering from treatment for lung cancer and has been treated for eye and bladder cancer in the past, said 'Even the best doctors, nurses and managers on earth aren't going to be able to understand what needs improving unless people affected by cancer in Manchester get involved and tell them what needs to change'.
