Having dropped out of New York's acclaimed fashion school the Fashion Institute of Technology after just four months, American designer Assoulin has proved that you don't need formal training to make it in the fashion industry.

Internships with Oscar de la Renta and Lanvin gave Assoulin the confidence to launch her own label in 2013, and she made her Fashion Week debut in New York this February. With the support of blogger power house and friend Man Repeller, aka Leandra Medine, and supermodel Lily Aldridge (who wore her designs at the amfAR New York Gala earlier this year), Assoulin has since been picked up by Bergdorf Goodman and Moda Operandi.
