Former sprint and hurdling athlete Colin Jackson has been named as founding patron of Social Purpose And Time (SPAT), a new charity which uses sport to engage with and help homeless and under-privileged young people.
The London Marathon has also announced its support, providing financial backing for the next two years to help expand the charity's services. Jackson commented 'Sport is the greatest passion in my life and has played such an important role in shaping me as a person... All young people deserve equal opportunities and for those socially marginalised, fitness can be pivotal'.
