Young adult writer Tess Sharpe's debut novel Far From You was released in March 2014 to a clean sweep of great reviews.
Sharpe, born in Northern California and now based near the Oregon border, learned her storytelling craft while studying theatre at university and interning at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, before turning to professional baking and writing as a full time career. Far From You tells the story of Sophie Winters, a teenage recovering OxyContin addict who's trying to solve the murder of her friend Mina, touching on themes of drug addiction, love and grief. It's been described as a 'beautifully realised debut' (Kirkus Reviews) and 'an emotionally driven love story that is just as beautiful as it is tragic' (Xpresso Reads).
