Glasgow based author Kirsty Logan's star is on the rise after her 'bewitching' debut novel The Gracekeepers was bought by Random House imprint Harvill Secker.
Dystopian novel The Gracekeepers, about a circus boat floating between archipelagos in a flooded world, has been described as 'astonishingly vivid and enchanting' by publicity director Liz Foley. Logan was named one of Canongate and The List's '40 Scottish storytellers of the future' in 2013, and her new short story collection The Rental Heart and Other Fairytales, published March 2014, has been compared to the work of Margaret Atwood, Jeanette Winterson and Angela Carter. Her literary credentials include winning the International Scott Prize for Short Stories in 2013 and her work as a bookseller and literary editor of The List magazine.
