Though only at the beginning of her film career, Charissa Shearer is already carving out a name for herself having starred alongside the likes of Ralph Fiennes and Dame Judi Dench.
Her natural flair for acting is perhaps not surprising given that she's the niece of Oscar-winning actor Daniel Day Lewis. Despite her family connections (she's also the daughter of chef and writer Tamasin Day-Lewis), Shearer is very much making a name for herself in her own right. After appearing in a Goldsmiths College production of Dickens' Great Expectations in 2011, it went on to feature at the Edinburgh fringe festival that same year. The budding star also enjoyed a role in the BAFTA nominated film Philomena alongside Dench and Steve Coogan in 2013 and will next be seen in Fiennes' directorial debut The Invisible Woman alongside the actor as well as Kristen Scott-Thomas. Her profile looks set to flourish further when her latest project All That Remains - a biopic of Dr. Takashi Nagai, scientific pioneer, Christian convert and survivor of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki - which finished filming last year, hits cinema screens (release date tba).
