Sir Roger Moore finances campaign against foie gras

23 12 2013

James Bond actor The Estate Of Sir Roger Moore has independently financed the production of leaflets condemning Fortnum & Mason for continuing to sell foie gras despite a long campaign from members of the public and animal rights charity PETA.

The leaflet features Moore, Ralph Fiennes and Joanna Lumley alongside the line 'Why Have These People Spoken Out Against Fortnum & Mason?', and quotes from actors, chefs, MPs and other celebrities. Moore commented 'The callous treatment of geese filmed by investigators at the very farms in France from which Fortnum & Mason's distributor sources foie gras, was far more violent and cowardly than anything James Bond ever faced at the hands of villains'.
