11 12 2013

The Herschel Museum of Astronomy in Bath has announced that Queen guitarist Sir Brian May has become its patron, taking over the role which was left vacant by the death of Sir Patrick Moore in 2012.

May, who completed his PhD at Imperial College, London in 2007, commented 'I'm honoured to follow in the footsteps of Sir Patrick, as Patron of the Herschel Museum... I hope to be a good patron, and an ambassador for this important part of Britain's scientific heritage'.
