Morgado scored his big break in an English language project - playing the Son of God.

In early 2013 the Portuguese actor and model hit headlines playing Jesus in the hugely popular US series The Bible, currently showing in the UK on Channel 5, and the big screen adaptation of the project – called The Son of God – is set to be equally as successful when its released next year. Previously the chiseled actor attracted attention in Portuguese language films such as A Teia de Gelo (2012) and O Crime do Padre Amaro (2005), however recognition in the US playing Jesus has invariably led to more higher profile roles; in 2013 he wrapped filming on two projects (Red Butterfly and Born to Race: Fast Track) which are set for release in 2014 (exact dates tba).
