Michael Garvey has been appointed director of BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales, Wales's only professional symphony orchestra.
Garvey takes up the position in December, and is to work closely with principal conductor Thomas Søndergård. His previous roles include Chief Executive of the Academy of Ancient Music, where he established AAM Records, the academy's own record label.
