The BBC has announced the appointment of The Guardian's Deputy Editor, Ian Katz, as Editor of Newsnight.
Katz takes up the role in September, replacing Karen O'Connor, who took on the role of Acting Editor in November 2012. Jamie Angus, former Editor of The World at One and current acting Deputy Editor of Newsnight, has also been appointed as Editor of Radio 4's Today programme.
