British actor Colin Firth has been revealed as vice president of Action for Stammering Children, announced at a reception given by Speaker John Bercow to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Michael Palin Centre for Stammering Children last week in London.
Firth, who was awarded an Oscar for his portrayal of George VI's struggle to overcome a lifelong stammer in 2010 film The King's Speech, takes up the position with immediate effect.
