Celebrities including Dame Joanna Lumley, Chrissie Hynde, Twiggy, and Kimberly Wyatt have joined Cruelty Free International to celebrate the ban on cosmetics testing on animals in Europe which comes into force March 11, and is the result of 20 years of campaigning.

Although cosmetics testing on animals is still legal in over 80% of the world, the European ban is to affect all cosmetics, from make-up to toothpaste. Hynde describes the victory as 'putting the humanity into beauty'.
