Italian fashion designer Alessandra Facchinetti has been named creative director of Tod's women's collections, taking up her role next month.

The former Gucci, Valentino and Uniqueness designer is to unveil her first collection for the brand during Milan Fashion Week in September. Facchinetti commented 'As an Italian designer, I feel very honoured to take up such an important role for a brand that - with the highest quality and refinement - helps to keep up the prestige of Made in Italy in the world'.
