M&S collaborates with Oxfam and Andrew Salomone for Wool Week

04 10 2012

Marks and Spencer has teamed up with Oxfam and New York based artist Andrew Salomone to celebrate Wool Week with a live knitting installation in the retailer's flagship Marble Arch store, October 15 and 16.

Salomone, known for mixing computer technology and traditional knitting craft, will use his digitally programmed knitting machine to produce customised pieces of knitwear for customers who 'shwop' their unwanted woollen items in-store. The Shwopping initiative, launched in April with Oxfam, encourages the public to recycle and re-sell used clothes.
