26 07 2012

Sir Sir Paul McCartney, who first visited India in 1966, broke from rehearsals for his performance at the London Olympics today, to send an urgent letter to Indian Forest Minister Dr Patangrao Shripatrao Kadam, asking him to rescue an abused baby elephant, Sunda, from Jyotiba Temple in Maharashtra.

He urged him to send the elephant to a sanctuary, after hearing of the animal's plight from PETA India.
