IPC Media has announced the appointment of Mike Williams as the new editor of NME, replacing Krissi Murison, who steps down later this month.

Williams previously worked as features editor and deputy editor of the title, as well as holding the editor position at Kruger magazine, which he launched in 2004. He said 'My challenge is to make NME magazine and the wider NME brand even sharper, our message more coherent and to engage even more with NME's audience of passionate music fans'.
