Cosmopolitan leads online protest to highlight gender wage gap

03 04 2012

Cosmopolitan magazine is leading an online protest via Facebook and Twitter today, urging women to fight against the current 15% pay gap.

At 3.55pm, a time chosen due to it being 15% less of the average 9-5 working day, the magazine will begin the protest using hashtag #4Kequalpay spend it YOUR way, encouraging women to retweet and comment on how they would spend the extra average £4k they are missing out on each year from their salaries. All tweets and Facebook posts include a link to the Cosmopolitan Equal Pay Petition, to be delivered to David Cameron later this year.
