Director and screenwriter Paul Abbott has been revealed as a Patron of Bipolar UK, the nationwide charity dedicated to supporting individuals, families and carers affected by bipolar disorder.

Abbott, who's responsible for creating Shameless, State Of Play and Clocking Off, will give a keynote speech at The Bipolar UK National Conference on June 23. The charity is also launching a new website this year, alongside the inaugural national Bipolar Awareness Day, June 27.
