Ex Independent Editor Simon Kelner has announced the first project of The Journalism Foundation, set up in December to offer advice on coping with the realities of reporting in a free society.

A series of workshops entitled 'Reporting in a Democracy' are running this week to mark the launch of a new centre in Tunisia, with The Independent's Foreign Editor Robert Fisk flying in from Beirut to lead the closing lecture tomorrow.
