05 10 2011

Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio has been announced as Global Ambassador for the International Fund for Animal Welfare, beginning his new role with the Elephants Never Forget campaign, which focuses on shutting down the international ivory trade.

The initiative, launched this week, is part of an annual education programme that reaches over 15 countries worldwide. IFAW aims to collect one million signatures over the next year, urging governments to step up efforts to combat poaching.
