Larry Gagosian said, 'Avedon is America's consummate modern photographer and one of the iconic artists from a generation which produced many extraordinary painters, sculptors and photographers'. During his lifetime the American photographer worked extensively for Harper's Bazaar, Vogue and Rolling Stone, and was the first staff photographer for The New Yorker.
